Peloton is one of the most popular exercise bikes available. While you can use it without a subscription, it won’t offer quite the same experience.

With a subscription, you’ll gain access to over 9,000 rides and bike Bootcamp classes. Plus, you’ll unlock performance metrics and leaderboards for added accountability.

How to use a peloton bike without a subscription

Some people who are on a tight budget and seeking an economical solution to their fitness goals may find using the peloton bike without subscription beneficial. However, if you want to make the most out of your workouts with this bike and routine over the long-term, investing in a subscription is recommended for optimal results.

Many owners of Peloton bikes find the monthly subscription fee too expensive for their budget. If this sounds like you, here are a few ways to save money while still taking advantage of all that a Peloton bike has to offer.

One way to try out Peloton without a membership is signing up for a free trial. This will grant you 30 days to use the app and experience classes before being charged monthly for use of the bike.

Another way to use a Peloton bike is by installing third-party apps on your phone or tablet. These often come with features similar to what the Peloton bike provides, such as leaderboards and structured classes.

How to invite a friend to use a peloton bike

With the Peloton app, you can invite friends to join you for a ride. This is an ideal way to stay motivated and on track with your fitness goals no matter where you live or what time of day it is.

To invite a friend to ride your Peloton bike, the initial step is creating their user profile. Do this by logging into the Peloton website or app and selecting ‘Rider Profiles’ from the account settings page.

Once a new user is created, they will receive an email with instructions on how to set up their own Peloton account. After doing this, they can begin riding alongside you on your Peloton bike!

If you don’t want to share your personal referral code, Peloton also offers Guest Passes so that others can try the service out and decide if it’s suitable for them. This is an ideal way to introduce friends and family to the company’s bikes and apps so they can decide if it meets their needs.

How to cancel a peloton subscription

If you want to cancel your Peloton subscription, there are several options. You can contact a customer service representative or complete the cancellation online.

To start, log into your Peloton account on either a computer or phone and click “Profile” at the top of the screen. Afterward, select Subscriptions from the dropdown menu.

Once you click “Cancel Subscription,” a list of your subscriptions will appear and allow you to select which one to cancel. After clicking the cancel button, some questions will need answering in order for the cancellation process to take place.

Additionally, you will need to sign in to your Google account. You can do this either by signing into the app or using your email address and password.

How to pause a peloton subscription

If you find that you cannot continue using peloton due to illness, injury or personal issues, you may need to pause your subscription. You have several options for doing this – online, over the phone, through Google Play, Fire TV and Amazon Appstore.

In November 2021, Peloton finally implemented its highly requested pause button – enabling members to pause an on-demand workout and resume it later – especially helpful during high intensity classes.

When a class is paused, your progress and aggregate metrics are frozen. Your rank on the Leaderboard also disappears; however, you’ll still be listed on the Here Now Leaderboard and all of your workout summary and scorecard data remains unchanged.

Peloton recently added the pause button to their Tread and Tread+ models, allowing you to pause on-demand classes and resume them at any time; however, please be aware that your Tread will slow down after 45 seconds of inactivity.
