Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 debuts, dropping players onto an island where they’ll discover many ways to interact with its aquatic environment. One such way is riding sharks – this allows players to quickly traverse any map’s watery terrain.

To begin, throw a fishing rod at one of these creatures by throwing chests, barrels near bodies of water or Supply drops. With practice you should be able to successfully land your catch!

Whale sharks

Whale sharks are among the world’s largest fish. They feed on plankton and krill, using their mouths that measure 1.55 meters across (5.1 feet), though they don’t use their teeth when eating; rather, 20 filter pads and 300 rows of tiny teeth filter food through.

Whale sharks are generally seen as friendly and docile creatures, yet they remain a threatened species that is illegally hunted in Asia for their meat and fins. Furthermore, these sharks could become entangled in fishing nets or collide with boats when trying to escape.

When selecting a dive operator to swim with whale sharks, it’s essential that you select one that doesn’t try to lure them away with food and only takes small groups. Ideally, no more than eight to ten passengers should be in the water at once.

Great white sharks

Sharks are some of the most fearsome predators in the ocean. With their school bus-sized bodies and over 300 razor sharp teeth, sharks make for intimidatingly powerful figures.

These creatures are renowned for their extraordinary senses of smell and sight, but they also use “electroreception” to detect tiny electric fields from objects and animals in the water. These organs, known as Ampullae of Lorenzini, can be found at the tip of their snouts.

The Great White Shark is an inquisitive creature, willing to investigate anything floating in the water – even if it appears harmless. They do this because their unattached jaws are retractable and mobile, much like cat’s claws.

Great white sharks possess 300 serrated, triangular teeth that can rip through meat with ease. On average, these teeth last about 300 years in the mouth of a Great White Shark, although some species lose up to 1000 of these in their lifetimes.

Tiger sharks

Tiger sharks are among the world’s most impressive and powerful fish. You may spot these majestic predators on tropical islands, as well as in warm temperate waters around the world.

Tiger sharks are voracious scavengers, boasting sharp, highly serrated teeth that can crack through sea turtle and clam shells. Tiger sharks also feed on stingrays, sea snakes, seals, birds, squids – even license plates and old tires!

Their keen eyesight and keen sense of smell enable them to quickly identify food sources, making them adept scavengers. They will eat anything that fits in their mouths, even taking home bags of trash!

Tiger sharks are being threatened by overfishing for their fins, skin and liver oil. They have been placed on the Marine Red List as near threatened, which means they could potentially become extinct within a generation.

Dolphins

Dolphins are warm-blooded mammals that provide their young with milk from their mammary glands. There are 75 species of whales, dolphins and porpoises living in the ocean.

Dolphins employ an intricate system of communication that includes clicks, whistles and other noises. Additionally, they utilize echolocation – a type of sonar that allows them to see underwater by picking up on echoes from sounds bounced off objects.

Scientists are still discovering how these brain cells communicate and what information they pass to one another. Spindle neurons, in particular, have been linked to social bonds, emotion and behavior.

Dolphins typically live in pods, groups of up to a dozen animals. These highly intelligent, deep-diving marine mammals rely on complex social networks for survival.
